FTW Season 6 is on the way... Preseason/Qualifiers begins January 29th. Map voting for team captains will begin soon. In the meantime, rosters are unlocked and you can begin updating your teams.

Here's we go kids, we've got a temporary system to proceed with the registration of the rosters / sign-up. We will be migrating this data later on to our new drupal platform. Good luck!

Note: Do not use a yahoo account to register on the new platform. For those of you that already did, please contact an admin. They will see you in the "need approval" section. We've had an argument with the yahoo mail exchangers.

The voting results for the FTW Competition Mapping Contest are in. Congratulations to our 1st place winner for his map ut4_poland, MajkiFajki!

"Delirium and MajkiFajki have both made wonderful maps and it shows that they both put a lot of time and effort into them" - CV

In the player vote, Poland edged out Oaks 56% to 44%. Each judge's vote is worth about ten times that of each player's vote. Two judges have given me their choice, ut4_poland, which means that between those votes and the player vote, Poland is a lock. (I have yet to hear back from the other 2 judges, but no matter what they vote, Poland has already won the majority %.)

Poland has also won best CTF map by a significant margin, and best TS map by a hair.

Voting is now on for the FTW Competition Mapping Contest. The winner of the contest will be determined by combining the player vote and the opinions of the map contest judges. Congratulations to clan pnk for winning the Beta Cup!

Thank you to all the teams who participated in the cup. It was a rather last minute competition, needed so that FTW players could give proper feedback for the FTW Mapping Contest maps. Yet with only three or four days notice, eight teams answered the call and made the competition fun and memorable. The focus of the competition was on ut4_oaks and ut4_poland. Teams got to learn the new maps and develop some strategies as the maps grew on them. We also tried out a couple other maps like ut4_filth and ut4_poison.

Thanks to the mappers for making these fun new maps for us to play, and thank you to the teams for their good sportsmanship which helped this tournament go off without a hitch.

I'm running a short FTW competition called the Beta Cup.

This will be a 6 game 'mini-season', with mixed CTF and TS, followed by a small single elimination playoffs for the top teams.

The maps to be used for this competition are ut4_poland_b4 and ut4_oaks_b2, both maps from the FTW map competition. The purpose of this tourney (aside from some much needed off season action) is to get real feedback on these maps from real matches, so that the mappers can improve them based on YOUR input! And then, in week 3 of the competition we will play *new* final versions of the maps after which time there will be a poll for players to vote which map is the best. Note: for players who use the bumpy client, you also need this file: bumpy files for ut4_oaks (normal non-bumpy Urt clients do not need this file)
