Played nicely IMO. Maybe a couple of the outer areas could be locked off for CTF for faster play.

agreed, the width of the map is the main problem I have with it. There is a lot of left over routes from before the blue flag was moved to it's current location.

i honestly hated it, each team camped the hell of their spawn

The new flag placement is horrible for the blue team.

Was much better the way it was originally from B23 and earlier.

The flag spot didn't make sense for blue but thats not it and nothing against skippy or whoever is working on it but this map is not league ready and needs some major fixes imo but i think you already know that and i actually think thats what he said in the other thread. The map has great potential with bomb mode but I think ts and ctf it just doesn't cut it atleast not right now. I also was getting frame drops from 125 to 30 and it really effected but game more so on red then on blue. I actually did a lot better on blue because my frames stayed pretty steady. Red a lot of the time is at the middle/redlol building and looking down that alley or the street and my frames got hit pretty hard there and also for the strangest reason I had no hits when I was red and went to the window room right next to the blue spawn.

Giant opening to the blue spawn that you can shoot into from 200 yards away. So many hiding spots and those type of maps only work if there are minimal routes like rommel or algiers. Couple things in my opinion need changed if you take the flags any further apart I think it becomes a boring map so I would actually keep them about the same distance where they are now but maybe move the blue and add a building and push the blue spawns up so that the middle building is the middle building and not reds building and make it more easily accessible on both sides. It wasn't boring at all to play last night but it just didn't flow good, a giant section of the map was completely useless and shoud just get removed for ctf and maybe keep for bomb i'm talking about the left side for blue and right side for red. If you shorten the routes I think that would help a lot and push the blue spawn up and to the left( if you are standing in the blue spawn facing red spawn)

f2 right now but if you shorten it up a little bit and make it less wide and keep the side routes just make them shorter I think it could be a really fun map to play also theres a couple areas where you can see into the rooms from above from the caulk and also standing on the fence and looking across the buildings you can watch them vanish and appear and thats probably a part of the frame drops best thing to do is to bring the buildings up to sky level and make them air tight, it gives the illusion that it's open but it's actually blocked by the sky brush and helps with vis greatly best example is casa. Then all you would have to do is throw in some diagonal hints. I like the map for sure though.

Yeah skip you should consider putting the blue flag back where it was before because it leaves a good half of the map practically untouched. I remember (from red side) always having to fight hard on the right because of that one passage that connects w/ office. Those fights were intense. Make it like that again :]

I honestly think this is the worst CTF map I've ever played. In general, way too many windows and such for people to camp in, and blue spawn is wide open to being camped from about 50 different hard to see spots. 10 thumbs down for this map

My exact thought and its a camp heavy map.

never expected this map to be such an unbalanced garabge. A definite f2.

F2 as well. If you could do something to lessen the fps blow, cover up some of the windows, and cage off the numerous back alleys, it might work for competition.

Skippy's original flag placement was great.

As he noted before, this map was basically for learning purposes only. There was also a bug we noticed (thought it only happened the first spawn and may not be repeatable). Skippy noted that some of the players spawned in the FFA spawnpoints (essentially placing Red pretty much at the blue flag for B24).

Also, we noted that there were way too many windows.

The map is large, and from what I can tell, was essentially done this way to begin with. It was never intended to be a "league/competition" map from the get-go. However, I do see great potential as long as the map made smaller (either through clipping or removing sections altogether).

Yeah blue flag just needs to be moved back to where it was and the alleys will be useful again. Maybe seal off security but i think its fine the way it is once the flag is moved.

And i witnessed that bug. happened to me at the very beginning of our second map

I and [51] loved this map. It should definitely be in the cycle.

I disagree... i mean i recommended skip move it in the first place but where it was before left the entire map unused. that said it was easier to defend the blue flag owing to the openness of the courtyard around it

I see your point. I thought it worked better where it was before because people still used the left side (camping jeep & flag grab), went through office, back route into red spawn, and that side alley to right of red spawn so everything was essentially being used. Just the design of the map makes it a little difficult to find a perfect place for blue flag...

In my opinion, the only way that the new blue flag area would work is if blue had more cover.

There are way too many windows for red to hide in when going after blue side, there are hardly any on the red flag side when blue makes the offensive push.
Basically, anyone who controlled security building seemed to have a serious advantage, and even then it didn't seem fair when blue was holding the side down.

Where the flag was originally, yeah most of the map wasn't being used I'll admit it, but there was more "even" cover for both teams as there were more attack points by utilizing more of the alleyways built into the map.
